Reata's New Cookbook and Recipes: Good News Travels Fast!

Video

Reata will be introducing their Fourth Cookbook in November of 2008 - Reata's Legendary Texas Cuisine. Featuring new recipes and the culinary story of Reata Alpine and Reata Sundance Square, the cookbook is true to Legendary Texas Cuisine. The cookbook’s new recipes are already gaining speed, with three of the recipes being featured in the press this summer. Chef Juan Rodriguez was invited to Good Morning Texas to demonstrate how to make Reata’s Chipotle Brownies with Co-Host Gary Cogill. The segment highlighted the Dining Room, Library Bar and Lounge Area and really showed off the restaurant. Thank you to Juan Rodriguez for doing a great job on the segment! The recipe for the brownies will be in the cookbook and is also featured on http://www.wfaa.com/gmt/.

Reata’s Chipotle Brownies

Peppers and chocolate? Yup! Peppers aren’t meant solely to taunt your tongue or make your eyes water. Mild peppers, like the chipotle, perfectly enhance chocolate. Our Southern neighbors in Mexico are so smart, they began pairing these flavors long before global warming. Juan Rodriguez – one of the spiciest members of our Fort Worth kitchen – came up with these brownies that literally radiate slow heat across your insides. The warmth of the pepper in these brownies makes that deep dark chocolate taste last way longer than your last bite. The only thing that can make these brownies any better is a big old scoop of ice cream or an ice cold glass of frothy milk. Click here for the recipe.

Reata's Tips for Summer Entertaining

Video

Reata was also featured this summer in Fort Worth Star Telegram’s Food Section for Outdoor Party Recipes and Entertaining Ideas. When Director of Sales, Misti Callicott, was contacted by the paper to share her insight on outdoor entertaining, she suggested another new Cookbook recipe, the Summertime Gazpacho and the Micallef Melonrita. "Reata Catering director Misti Callicott says this is an easy, cool, refreshing first course that makes a great introduction to grilled fish. It’s also a surprising appetizer served in shot glasses at a backyard barbecue, or in martini glasses for a ladies' lunch." Fort Worth Star-Telegram
